GS3 announcement; FE:PoR ships.

rozzlynnJust seen the news about GS3. It was just "Huh." for a while, but the poster looks gorgeous, and the trailer seems fairly open ended, so I guess they might do a good job and expand the series rather than ruining it. Gotta hope so.
Anyway, I finally got hold of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn this summer, and I finished my 3rd playthrough of Path of Radiance over the last week or so (from a ch25 file from the 2nd playthrough), so that's the normal mode epilogue with the supports I want to transfer all sorted. Since I read all the support conversations online and only cleared the game the 1st time fairly recently, all the shipping thoughts are still new, but I don't want spoilers for the sequel, so I'm just gonna squee here for now.
CANON SHIPS
Ilyana/Lucia OTP! Ilyana definitely deserves someone as beautiful and strong as Lucia, and omg it sucks that they didn't get an ending even though Lucia said they'd "get through this together". I wish Lucia had better stats; her character design is so lovely, but I can't use her much without wasting exp. The Ilyana-Mia support was fun, but that seemed more friendshippy. I don't see much evidence of Ilyana/Zihark; she didn't really seem to notice any of the guys, and he was such a jerk. "Don't be such a tease, bitch. Now I guess I'd better pay for some of your basic sustenance, so that you'll still put up with me. Not that I can afford much." Yeeeah right, that is not a pairing, it's two mercenaries trying to get along while they still have to work together. Ilyana/Lucia and "I want to be with you!" all the way.
Also, Ike/Soren was pretty squee-worthy. That time when Soren got pissed off enough to start a fight with the Laguz was awesome, and his protectiveness towards Ike first seemed to come through there. And, of course, his "I will show you true fear" dialogue with Petrine balanced his A-support with Ike quite nicely. I did notice some Ike/Ranulf moments second/third playthrough, but it couldn't happen unless Soren took a liking to Ranulf too. Then Soren/Ike/Ranulf might work.
Reyson/Tibarn, ship or friendship. Kinda missed it the first time around due to all the Naesala/Reyson subtext, but the latter never served as anything more than fun subtext, while the former actually looks like a pretty cool relationship.
Volke/anything-for-money. XD There has to be fanfic where he's a whore. Not that I'd want to read it.
Titania/Greil and Elena/Greil both seemed like decent backstory, the way they were portrayed. Though, seriously, whenever I get to Mist's line that she'd want to avenge Greil too, if she could wield a sword, it's such gahh. I already have her as a Lv 10 or so Valkrie with C-class swords and Sol at that point. She's claiming that she can't fight when she's already slashed up dozens of enemies. WTF.
Mist/Jill, anyway, as ship or friendship; they seem pretty close, either way. There were hints of Mist/Elincia in the ending - they'd supported each other through it all, and Mist was thinking of singing her a lullaby - but there wasn't really enough dialogue between them to see it most of the time. Elincia/Geoffrey makes a lot of sense; they have a good dynamic, and in the A-support, their feelings seem mutual. Elincia-Ike seemed like an important friendship for her, though not quite such an important one for him overall.
Ena/Rajaion, definitely. Ena was awesome, and she brought in an army to get Ashnard to stop riding her lover... Wish there'd been some dialogue between Ena and Soren. They had a lot in common.
Brom/his wife. But their daughters are too awesome for Zihark. A gal who can heft a cow deserves better.
Rhys/Ulki. He spent hours lying on his back. They had so much fun.
Calil's friendships with Nephenee and Tormod put her in a pretty good light. She's good at getting prickly little nuts to open up.
Shinon-Janaff brought out the best in both of them, too. Shinon needed a better friend than Gatrie; it sucked to see an amusing character spending so much time with a 2-dimensional idiot. And anytime Shinon and Soren were competing for the Cynical Mercenary of the Year Award was yay.
PLAUSIBLE SHIPS
Marcia/Astrid? They'll both be serving Beignon, and they'll both need company once they get their lives on track.
Mia/Boyd might work. He doesn't seem to make the sort of assumptions that annoy her, and she's certainly closer to his age than Titania is. 0.o
Astrid's sisters / Brom's daughters. Let them be happy rich widows with cheerful lovers.
Naesala/Shinon? That could be such a fucking great train wreck. Or possibly crossover Vaida/Shinon.
Nephenee-Mia? Nephenee-Boyd? Nephenee-Mist? She still needs a friend who wouldn't tell her to "smile" all the time.
For a while, I thought that Zelgius might be Calil's type -- he seemed to fit the 'knight in shining armour' mold too -- but then I heard that one spoiler, and... no. So much no.
IMPLAUSIBLE SHIPS
Oliver/Reyson! Naesala/Reyson! Leanne/Reyson! How else are they gonna bring back the heron clan? XD
Soren/Shinon/Reyson/Lethe. Angry bishies. #.@
